I work as an Associate Partner in the Financial Services Organization of EY in Germany supporting the Transaction Advisory Operational Transaction Services team. I lead Due Diligences (buy side and sell side), integration and transformation programs as well as strategic projects for my clients. I lead operational integration and carve-out projects. I help clients in the financial services and payments industry to assess and successfully transform their operating models and their IT landscape. With my project team I supported make or buy decisions, developed sourcing strategies and selection models for cloud services.

I started my career as a student of computer sciences, focusing on software engineering. I continued to work on this subject and published articles and a book on "Automated Transformation of Software Models based on Graph Rewriting Systems".

After finishing my Ph.D. I went into consulting, working on and leading implementation projects for credit management and securities management based on business process platforms (e.g., BizAgi, jBPM, BEA WebLogic Process Integrator, etc.). I moved on into strategy consulting in order to better understand the development of business strategies and how businesses adapt to changing business environments.

In order to understand the clients better and to see the world through a different lens, I supported the CIO of the DekaBank to define a modern and performance oriented IT function, including a new IT strategy, sourcing strategies, enterprise architecture management, project and program management, budgeting, etc.

In parallel I complemented my professional education with an Executive MBA that allowed me to study in renowned business schools like Duke University, Indian School of Business, Tongji University, and Frankfurt House of Finance. Highlights were our 'student projects' with real-world clients and the entrepreneurial classes at Duke. I rounded things off by achieving a PMI certification for project management (PMP).

In my personal life I enjoy photography, drone flying (esp. filming) and drone construction, playing music (guitar), and from time to time also a little coding (today mostly in the area of Internet of Things (#IoT) - mostly with ESP8266). In my rare spare time I am a proud inspirer of the Hacker School - teaching kids the fundamentals of programming.
